More about Barbara Wolfangel
Beginning her career as a Clinical Social Worker, Barbara
Wolfangel worked with families and children in a variety of settings. She received a
B.A. at Wittenberg University and an M.S.W. at the Ohio State University. After the
birth of her second child, she decided to be at home full time with her son and daughter.
An important theme noticed in her work with children was the satisfaction and growth
brought about by creative endeavor. Being at home gave her the freedom and desire to
apply what she had learned to her own life. Various mediums were tried, but
photography proved to be a way to combine a love of nature, enjoyment of travel, and
fondness of learning. This medium allows for an appreciation of detail and beauty in
our everyday world.
Subject matter includes natural settings, flowers, and rustic settings. Locations
range from Ohio and Michigan, to the Eastern states and seashores, the Rockies, the
Appalachians, and Switzerland.
It is hoped that these photographs may serve to increase ones awareness about the beauty
surrounding us and the serenity that lies in its observation.
